Bullpen Game?

Ok, I'm going to try and keep my irritation and frustration under control here. I don't like the bullpen game idea that we did today. Here is what I as a fan want. I'd like to know who issued the order? Was it Elias? Was it Hyde? Was it some mutual organizational decision? And why? Whose idea was this? Who did this?

I really do think it's time to DFA Voth and Perez. If Voth in particular struggles in a game like today's, then why is he on the roster? He's been nothing special in short outings, and if he can't provide any length, I don't see what kind of value he adds. Perez has been terrible all season outside of a brief stretch earlier this month.

Both Voth and Perez allow way too many baserunners to be assets to this bullpen.

Time to part ways with both pitchers that were waiver wire pickups and found money. Get Irvin and Vespi up as soon as their pitching schedules allow.

Is any media member going to have the balls to ask Hyde who came up with brilliant idea and then issued the order? And if Hyde gives a non answer kind of an answer will he/she restate and ask again?

The GM controls the roster.

I didn’t understand the bullpen game plan and obviously it turned out horribly even if they come back to win.

Irvin was clearly available, he’s literally pitching right now for Norfolk.

is there some obscure roster reason they didn’t want to call up Irvin for one of the relievers with options to start this game? If not this is just pure mismanagement.

Irvin was not available because pitchers who are sent down have to stay there for 15 days.

That said, Bruce Zimmerman pitched on 5/26 and he seems like he would've been a fine option for a spot start.

Ah good point— I thought enough time had passed. Did it used to be 10 days?
