Mateo and Gunnar don’t belong on the same field.   Mateo is an exciting 2nd division team player.  Someone to watch when the team is not a contender.  Just bizarre Os leadership is not seeing that.

Exactly.  He's on the roster to play good defense.  His defense isn't nearly as good as last year, thus his value isn't high enough to keep him around.  I know he had a big hit earlier, but I still don't want him hitting, and now I'm not sure he's worth keeping for defense either.

I don't disagree, but I think he could try a bit more to put his pitchers in situations to succeed. This was a big ask for Fuji and there wasn't even good reason to believe he could do it better than anyone else. Managing a pitcher's psyche is part of being a manager imo.

Well, we're sure as hell not using Felix for two innings again so I'm not sure what the path to victory here is. The O's aren't scoring off of Adam or Fairbanks.
