I’m sorry I wasn’t clear, I was saying that although I’m not in favor of bringing up McDermott, it might be worth trying. I didn’t suggest that Mike would do so. I also firmly think that if we are going to risk someone with a terrible BB rate, it would be wise to bring up McDermott than to acquire Scott. But I would prefer to do neither. -
Another counter argument is that except for this recent 5 game losing streak, they also have a tendency to play down to their competition.. so I am not taking anything for granted. -

When you alternate between offense being terrible and pen being terrible, that's how you end up with 0 wins besides being a really good starter. -
And yet, we spend more time talking about Jackson Holliday on this site than Gunnar? Do we take Gunnar for granted even after such a short time? I agree with you that folks are overstating the problem. The season to date stats don't tell the full story though. They include about 100 innings (~14% of our total innings) from our elbow quartet of Bradish, Means, Wells, and Coulombe. That work was overall excellent, even factoring in Wells' poor contribution. They're all currently out of the picture and our in-house replacements for those IP won't be as good. It'll be a challenge to stay this high in the ERA ranks unless they bring in more talent.
