Ty Wigginton has passed his physical and signed his contract. He's an Oriole, at least on paper, for the next two years.

The Orioles designated infielder Scott Moore for assignment to clear room on their 40-man roster.

Interesting how Roch says that the Orioles want to see if he can back up Izturis. That would definitely be huge if he could play short once in awhile without completely embarrassing himself.

Stupid move by the Orioles as they could use Moore at least in ST in case of an injury, but now at least he'll get to play hopefully on a ML roster like he deserves. Gotta wonder if keeping Simon or Waters is really worth losing Scott Moore.

Not surprised. Good luck to him whereever he goes. I was kinda hoping he had a long term future with us because of him and Nick being exactly the same age. It would be cool having two guys born on the same day on one team. Wigginton should be a nice player for us though.
