I think around when we got him I'd checked out his stats, and got the general impression he was more Jud Fabian than Jud Fabian.

Seeing him Friday, it was some confirmation bias.    He homered majestically over the CF fence his 2nd time up, but in the 1st inning when Mason Montgomery was struggling, Burdick his first time up whiffed on a couple huge cuts while striking out.     He more than made up for it 2nd time up.

He got the opening night start against the lefty, but was sitting in Game 2 against a RHP.

A lot of power but no approach at the plate.   He just swings as hard as he can and runs into one once in awhile.

When you have options and get DFA for David Bañuelos for one game it’s a good sign that it’s permanent this time.

Must be frustrating in a way to be THAT good at baseball, but not quite good enough to make it all the way.  Like looking into the promised land, but never being able to get there (or get there and stay - I'm not sure if he ever had a ML AB, and don't care enough to look it up because my point remains regardless).
