Your top guys are getting full rides which are most of the ones getting drafted out of high school.

I thought it was something like under 12 full scholarships that were divided among the team.  I don't know but I wouldn't think a 10th round arm would get a full share at a good program.

But that's speculation on my part and if you have actual data than I'm convinced.

2025 is not necessarily over. It’s typically a 12 months recovery. So we can hope for a post all star break return next year if he doesn’t have set backs or take longer than the average. Can you count on that? Maybe not. But assuming now he won’t pitch all next year already doesn’t seem right.

It’s definitely his first good year but he’s been really good. 3.09 ERA, 3.45 FIP, 3.53 xFIP, 3.36 xERA. Kremer had one season with a good ERA but has always had pretty mediocre to bad peripherals.

It depends on what story you tell yourself about Fedde.  One story is that he's just having a career year and will come back to his career norms.  The other story is that he went overseas, picked up a new pitch and we should ignore his career records.   If the latter story is correct then he's a distinct upgrade on what we have now beyond Burnes and Gray Rod. and a better pickup for this year than Crochet or Luzardo.   I trust Elias and his scouts to figure this out.

One man’s misfortune is another’s opportunity.   Hopefully, Cade Povich looks good tonight.

Burnes

GRod

Irvin

Kremer

Povich

Suárez to the pen.   It could still work.

No it won't.  That is a disaster waiting to happen and everyone including Elias knows the O's have to do something or they will be looking at a 1st round exit again.

I would advocate for ten starters candidates next season, they’re volatile, expensive & attrition is high . It’s getting more expensive to use “Buy the arms” strategy

I guess we should buy a time machine and draft starters 3 or 4 years ago.

So...who's in the rotation next season?

I almost answered this question, but then I realized that it might tempt the baseball gods to further decimate our rotation depth, so I'll just leave it at "at least 1, maybe 2, guys not currently in the organization."

At this rate, the O's will be having tryouts at Camden Yards.

Realistically, the O's won't outbid the top big money teams on a 300 million+ contract for Burnes but there is zero excuse for the O's not signing at least a #3 type starter.  Rubenstein definitely has the funds.
