Hideki Irabu: COMEBACK!!!!!1

BRob51

That's an April Fool's joke.
There are still 3 hours left for April fools.

Enough time to try and go for a hat trick on BRob51.

I need to think fast.

This one's actually legit though. If you look at the comments, it says the article was posted in January.

This is the supposedly the link to the original article, though I can't actually read Japanese (yet): http://anchorage.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/mnewsplus/1232328800/

This is not legit.

Look at the intentionally vague wording of the article. "Irabu was reported as saying through a translator..." Reported by whom? Why wouldn't this article provide the source?

Or "several baseball insiders who identified themselves as Yankees officials"? Who phrases a sentence that way unless they're making it up?

Moose, I think you've got your April Fools' hat trick on BRob51-- he fell for the other article once, and this article twice. ;)

I hate April Fools so so so much...

No you were right... don't listen to those guys... they don't read Japanese, but I do and can verify its true... it said he had to retire from a leg injury and has been living in LA for the last 4 years, but he has recovered and wants to return to the MLB... He is currently vying for a spot with the Yankees AAA team right now in their Minor League camp... Here, its verified in a Japanese newspaper:

So don't listen to those other guys... they didn't get you.... you were wrong on the Yu Darvish thing (I had a good laugh), but this one is real. Nice find. :thumbsup1:

Don't mean to burst your bubble, but that original article was and still is an April Fool's joke.

He was never working out for the Yankees, nor will he be playing in their minor league system. He will be playing in an independent league, and the chances of him appearing in a major league uniform again are abut .0000001%.
