More unnecessary Hays calumny.  Hays has hit into DP’s in 9.1% of his DP opportunities in his career, well below the major league average of 10.2%.   This year, he was at 3.5%, having hit into one DP all season.  If you’re going to bash a player after he’s gone, at least have a factual basis for it.

Good points, thanks for the reality check on a persistent impression from all those hard grounders to the left side. It did seem to me that this year was much better than before.

I was a big fan of Stowers, and I wanted Norby up getting the majority of starts at 2B, so I get where you're coming from. Both players have power potential but they both have a lot of swing and miss in their game.

I didn't like the trade at the time but I've come around on it. There's no way of knowing how long this window will be open with the current group of players, but having at least 4 of the rotation spots accounted for moving forward has some value.

Well let's see how Rogers looks going forward. More outings like the other day and I personally will not want him anywhere near being one of the pieces moving forward into next year. At least not part of the starting rotation.

I honestly thought he was just gonna go up there with a long hard swing and pull everything or strike out.  He has been the opposite as he has short stroke and is going to right field more then pulling anything.

Lose Mountain, Brad, Means, Tyler, Danny, now Grod and go ahead and subtract Mateo. Hays, and Westy then reset  Mullins to 2021 and you end up with an average team, not a 1st place team - has nothing to do with Hyde.

I love this dude. He’s Nelson Cruz 2.0 out there. Big dude. Probably would hit bombs like Cruz if we didn’t have the new LF and WALL.

He’s our Jeff Conine/Delmon Young “Professional hitter”.

We don’t need 6 years of service from him. Just 3 months.

Ceiling. Just like Mayo. Ceiling.

I’ve read somewhere on here that he’s all line drive/ground ball and not much in the air.

Anyone knowledgeable about swing mechanics and the likelihood of him lifting some balls? To my amateur eye, he’s hitting to all fields and I like his approach, but it does seem to be more line drive driven.

Honestly even if he doesn’t hit HRs, I think his approach could be just fine as we get plenty of home runs.

Could you imagine if the MASN crew celebrated Hays etc not being on the team anymore, yeesh.

Between their fans, this and Getz and Reinsdorf, I don’t have much sympathy for what’s going on the Southside.
