It’s not his fault, but results matter. Not saying he’s definitely gone if they lose tomorrow, but to think it’s not even a consideration after these last 2 playoffs (with a loss tomorrow) is crazier than saying he should definitely be gone.

I'm just glad they won't have Gordon/Dyson/Cain to run out there on the grass in the late innings this time around. Watching those guys steal hit after hit from us was no fun in 2014 😑

Some quick recaps of the matchups against KC, as they happened so long ago that they’re genuinely tough to remember. Game 1 (@BAL): Orioles win 6-4.  Dean Kremer vs. Michael (Wacha) Wacha. K

Kinda where I'm at but not sure if that's a real feeling or just a defense mechanism from about 35 years of being a sports fan and my team never winning anything.

No. I don’t think he goes. 
 

 

This isn’t football. Elias doesn’t make rash decisions. There is no way he views any series as an indictment of the skipper. 
 

If he was to move on from Hyde it would be from his overall body of work.

KC only struck out 3 times against Burnes even though he pitched very well. It’s a team that doesn’t K much. 

I mostly like the remaining pitching matchups but I’m worried they’ll do enough to dink and dunk their way to victory against either Eflin or Kremer.

Perhaps… or perhaps not.  Managerial replacement is an option often taken even by winning teams that can’t get anywhere in playoffs.

I’m not saying he does either, but speaking of body of work, 0-5 in 2 years in the playoffs is a massive issue. As is the last 90 games this year where the team seemed like they were mentally spiraling with no end in sight.

Hyde’s not the team counselor but they were awful under pressure last year in the playoffs, ditto the last 90 regular season games, and they were today as well. Nothing is wrong strategically with Hyde. But if he can’t get these guys to take a breath and relax in pressure situations, they need to find someone who might help with that. It can’t get much worse than the last 90 some games and all 4 playoff games under his tenure. Hopefully they can win tomorrow and gain some confidence.

This. He’s not bad. But if he goes winless in 2 playoff trips, that’s very bad.

To be fair, Adley is nowhere near comparable to the level of superstar player as Jackson. Adley is a good/all-star level player (excluding the 2nd half of this season). Lamar Jackson is one of the very best players in the National Football League and an absolute superstar type player who garners national attention.

      Will Gunnar, Adley and company ever win a single playoff game in an Os uniform? It’s become a valid question. Nothing leads me to believe that they will.

      Norby is RH. What we needed were LH bats against Ragan's reverse splits.  Norby's .732 is lower than Urias's .745. I don't see any reason to think his bat would have been the difference, and Urias was excellent in the field today.

      They were saving him for when the thought he was needed most with lefties up they probably pull it so going 1st to 3rd in Camden Yards isn’t usually a smart move with right fielders so close.   If it was to pinch run or possibly have to hit.  They were two spots away from getting to the pitcher spot where you would want a lefty to face Ercg.  As I have said lefties up you like to leave the hole between first and second unless you know it is an easy steal.  If he tries to steal and gets thrown out people are mad you made an out on the base paths and didn’t give the hitters a chance.  It all risk reward.

      Yeah after a rough stretch there Burnes has certainly turned things around. Depending what they do in the off season this rotation is going to be a mess with no Burnes, Bradish and with GRod always breaking down and then add this non clutch hitting offense in there to boot and I say Elias has his work cut out for him  big time to get this team back to the playoffs.. I know in my mind I'm a what have you done for me lately guy and this second half is what will stick in my mind not 2023 or the first half.

      You have left handed batters so you don’t steal to leave open the hole.  They also are not gonna hut a fly ball you can tag up on to right field in Camden Yards.  O’Hearn is a decent runner that has very good baseball instincts it isn’t like it was Jiminez he is pinch running for.
