They’ve lost so many starting pitchers too, plus then trading Glasnow. It’s almost like they’ve punted on this year. I think they get 3 guys back from TJ next year, albeit we’ve seen how that can go. They are definitely a shell of the team from start of last year, no doubt. -
I mean, the elephant in the room is that their 5 WAR star shortstop is stuck in the minor leagues too. Just that alone would have been enough to send them from a 90 to an 85 win team. When you add in the fact that the checks got cashed on their pitching voodoo magic, it's not hard to see why they're regressing. Their position players regressing was just icing on the cake for them. -
TB doesn’t look the same . Yes it’s one game this series and for all I know they win the next 2. I have a ton of respect for that organization. Top to bottom well ran. Culture of winning. Their pitching unlike in the past doesn’t look to be good enough to overcome their bats. In 21 ranked second in AL rpg 22 ranked 11th 23 ranked 2nd 24 so far 12th Their offense has some upside. Some guys are hitting below career norms. That said I’m not sure their pitching can step up enough. They don’t look to be a candidate to challenge the Orioles and Yanks. Not sure what the final WC record will require. That may be able to hang around that race. -
once again, our pitching was the story. -
