If Betemit is healthy before September 1, I would guess that Urrutia would be the odd man out, since Betemit would replace Urrutia as the DH against RHP.

Considering he is just now allowed to begin rehab, I honesty dont see him being ready before Sept 1.

Considering rehab for position players is capped at 20 days, I honestly don't see him not being ready before Sept 1.

I expect Urrutia will go down until the end of the month (possibly only a week) and then be brought back up with the other September callups.

Rehabs are capped at 20, but I believe the team can apply for additional rehab time.

2 questions:

1) Why would they put him on a rehab assignment if they didn't expect him to be ready within 20 days?

2) Why don't you look it up instead of writing what you don't know?

I don't know, that's a tough call. I like urrutia, but betemit is more proven. We would have both in September, so the real question is who do you want as the dh vs. rhp in the playoffs.

Saw this on MLB Trade Rumors:

Wilson Betemit, Orioles: $3.2MM option vests with 324 plate appearances (combined 700 between 2012 and 2013). Betemit underwent arthroscopic knee surgery on March 26th and he'll begin a rehab assignment on Tuesday. Needless to say, his option won't vest.
