I know HR have been responsible for an ever ascending percentage of runs, but I still kind of did a double take when the announcers highlighted that despite his 36 HR allowed, Verlander let in only 66 total runs on the season.

I think it was Fangraphs that called it the luckiest season of all time.  Super low BABIP and sky high strand rate despite allowing a lot of hard contact.

Maybe if Verlander were younger, but he is 36 years old. When I heard he was pitching tonight, I expected he wouldn't look sharp tonight.

He had poor command. 

Baseball is just a crazy sport. These 5 game series can flip in an instant.

That's what makes the baseball playoffs so unpredictable. A 107 win team can have one bad week and boom they are eliminated.

Houston is our only hope to stop New York.  The Twins series was nothing more than a 3 game spring training-esque scrimmage to get healthy for the next series.  Tampa is doing well, but I don't see them toppling the Yankees in a series (especially not with Games 6 and 7 in New York).  The Dodgers are basically useless against top AL teams.  So it is Houston or bust.

Meanwhile, three Game 5s is just awesome.  The LA-Washington matchup tonight is as good as it gets.  Can't wait.
