Last year wasn't luck, but this year's team is not the same. A lot of our heroes from last year either got traded or have regressed significantly - for instance the bullpen.

I agree that we aren't that good, but even if all of our players from last year had maintained the same level of play this year, we would be half a game back from Boston for the division title and a virtual lock for the first wildcard.
