Nnice hit Hundley. So is it his defense that is keeping him on the bench? That is a very curious trade.

I think they were faced with completing the season with 2 catchers with a combined 2 months of major league experience, one of whom they weren't sure was up to the task defensively.

So they traded for the only experienced ML catcher that was in any way available on the market for a reasonable price.

A bit of a panic move, perhaps.
