Potential Rain Out on Thursday

I suppose we could.

I don't think that Showalter would do that, though.

At worst, he would probably just bus up 4 or 5 pitchers that he had no intention of putting on the playoff roster, along with 11 or 12 position players (of which at least 4 or 5 that he would have no intention of having on the playoff roster), and keep everybody else home.

Ubaldo to start. Saunders, TJM, Meek to finish it out. Clevenger catching. Walker at 1B. Paredes at 3B. Johnson at 2B. Flaherty at SS. De Aza, Lough, Berry in the OF. Young DH.

Coastal Low appears to have formed off the coast of GA/SC.

wow. 2" of rain forecast in the next 48 hours for NYC, all coming after tomorrow. maybe 3" for NYC in the next 72.

I don't know how you play that game Thursday if that forecast holds up.

They should've played a split doubleheader today (Wed) starting at 11 am and 3 pm.

Cal was much later in the season.

Almost July. As opposed to the beginning of February.

Yeah, but it's all the same to me. Jeter didn't feel like hearing questions all year about how much longer he was going to play. Rivera did the same thing the year before, and nobody seemed to have a problem with it. Chipper Jones did it. It's becoming fairly customary. I have no problem at all with Derek Jeter.

Well everything comes to an end. The Jeter era is going to be over and tickets for this game are $400+ to see him in his last home game. Problem I see is - it's going to RAIN!!! So if it gets rained out do you think they try to reschedule the game or does everyone that over paid for their tix get screwed??? I say no game on Monday - rest O's...........

Isn't that what I said?

You asked me if we could forfeit' date=' so I answered you, as best as I could.

Also, you implied that the decision was arbitrary.

If they make us play, I say send the spring training b squad to NY to play and get everyone else ready for the playoffs.

There is no "making us" play.

The game will either be played if it potentially affects the playoff seedings, or it won't be played.

If you don't know what the rules are in the first place, and then ask an additional question on the matter (the possibility of a forfeit), and then come back with a rhetorical question ("Isn't that what I said?") after the person answers you to the best of his knowledge, then I believe that you're acting pretty ungraciously.

If I were Buck, I would send the Florida taxi squad guys and whichever one of Berry/Lough is not making the playoff roster. Let Dempsey manage the team.

Thanks so much OFFNY for your help.
