Rey has botched a few plays. I guess the thinking is, if your defensive guy isn't getting it done, might as well go with someone who can help with his bat.

Yeah, I was thinking about making a post about how unimpressive he looked in the field, then I thought give the kid a break and let him settle down a bit, it's his first few games in the majors.

I guess Buck isn't as patient.

Could be interesting around 2B. Not too interesting, I hope.

More Buck weirdness at 2B. Starting Pearce against the Rays suggests Buck thinks he is the better fielder. Is Paredes that much better a hitter that he demands to play over Pearce against the Mets? Seems like Buck is slapping Paredes in the face for his defense by starting Pearce in the first series, then slapping Pearce in the face by benching him for the Mets.

From the twitter chatter by the beat writers, it sounds like Pearce still isn't feeling 100% after being sick.

I'm not one that cares much about this sort of thing, but I do find it funny that our cleanup hitter has a .036 ISO and like half of his hits this year have been seeing eye singles.

He's gotten lucky on balls in play and has still only been an average hitter? Bat him 4th.

That, my friend, is why Buck is considered a "genius" by "many" here! ;) Genius to some is "seat of the pants" to others.
