You can't speak in specifics about this. Sure, some money went towards Cabrera which is looking like a decent depth signing. Most of the money was reinvested with who was on the team.

But the payroll is higher so the money was spent. Of course, we could have Markakis and gotten rid of DeAza and never traded for Snider.

You're right, most of the money was reinvested to players who were already on the team....and that's my point! The money wasn't spent to necessarily improve the team, it was spent in an effort to maintain the status quo. That's difficult to do since they lost Markakis and Cruz. I have always maintained that I completely understand why they didn't pay those guys what they received in the open market. However, the problem is that they didn't do anything to make up for it and/or improve the team otherwise.

I am glad I have plans tonight and don't have to watch Snider dance around in RF. Why the heck is he playing out there when Pearce looked much improved last night and provides better defense out there (at least now)? I hope Snider has HUGE numbers against this starter or that is a real head scratcher.

I agree. I was just speculating honestly though. For all I know Delmon could have really good lifetime numbers against Noesi and that's why he's starting tonight and not Snider.

Alex Colome will be making his 2015 season debut in the majors.

Previously this year, he had pitched at AAA-Durham.

Colome has been very wild when he has pitched at the major league level (hence his low ERA, but high WHIP.)

The Oriole batters need to ........ BE PATIENT !!!

2013: OColome was 1-1 with a 2.25 ERA and a 1.438 WHIP.

2014: OColome was 2-0 with a 2.66 ERA and a 1.225 WHIP.

Wow, I thought you meant batting second, but you mean playing second base! Do they ever have typos with these lineups? Because that is CRAZY. Isn't this why we have Navarro? In an emergency, I could see Manny at SS with Cabrera at 2B and Pearce at 3B. I could see Paredes as 2B. Is Paredes that bad that Pearce is a better 2B? I could even see Lough there. Buck must be desperate to get Pearce in the lineup in Tampa, but even so I can think of other ways to do it.

I am bummed, tonight is date-night with the wife so I am going to miss this.
