You get credit for every base you take without getting put out by the defense. It's the same reason why they don't take singles away from base runners that are subsequently caught stealing.

I sort of understand, but that's an apples and oranges comp, IMO. Getting a single and getting thrown out stealing a pitch or two later is different than trying to take an extra base on one play.

This game is f'ing awesome.

No kidding! It's been dramatic and action-packed and very, very good for the O's.

I love these electrifying games. Other times, it's hum-drum stuff that nearly puts you to sleep, like "a little fly ball to center field..... Soandso makes the catch. And the Orioles go one, two, three. We head to the top of the seventh, nothing-nothing, on the Orioles radio network." :slytf:

It's games like these that make the rest tolerable. We watch/listen in the hopes of seeing games like this happen, live. Let's go! I can't wait for the next inning!
