What would "tiers" look like for players on our team?

If you were to create tiers, such as you would in fantasy football, to separate players on our team in terms of current and future production, how would divvy them up? (contract obligations aside; obviously some of our free agents will not have future production with us).

Tier Pos Name

1 3B Manny Machado

1 1B Chris Davis*

1 CF Adam Jones

1 CL Zach Britton*

2 SP Kevin Gausman

2 2B Jonathan Schoop

2 RF Gerardo Parra*

2 RP Darren O'Day

2 SP Wei-Yin Chen*

2 SP Ubaldo Jimenez

2 SP Chris Tillman

3 SP Mike Wright

3 RP Mychal Givens

3 RP Brad Brach

3 C Matt Wieters#

3 C Caleb Joseph

3 SP Miguel Gonzalez

4 UT Steve Clevenger*

4 SS J.J. Hardy

4 RP Brian Matusz*

4 UT Henry Urrutia*

4 DH Jimmy Paredes#

4 UT Steve Pearce

4 RP Chaz Roe

4 RP Oliver Drake

4 SP Tyler Wilson

4 DH Christian Walker

5 RP Jason Garcia

5 RP T.J. McFarland*

5 2B Ryan Flaherty*

5 UT Junior Lake

5 1B Chris Parmelee*

5 RP Cesar Cabral*

5 RP Jorge Rondon

5 2B Rey Navarro#

5 LF David Lough*

5 SS Paul Janish

I really just eyeballed this, but would you change anything about some of these players stand? I can already envision arguments about Gausman and Schoop being in the top tier, the future of some guys like Givens, the value (or lack thereof) of Matt Wieters, etc. How much weight do you place on guys like Gausman who haven't "figured it out" completely, but will eventually? Is that as important than having lock down guys like Manny and Adam already competing at a high level?

Youre gonna cry ninety-six tears

Youre gonna cry ninety-six tears

Youre gonna cry, cry cry cry now

Youre gonna cry, cry, cry, cry

Ninety-six tears

C'mon and lemme hear you cry, now

Ninety-six tears, I wanna hear you cry

Night and day, yeah, all night long

Uh-ninety-six tears, cry cry cry

C'mon baby, let me hear you cry now, all night long

Uh ninety-six tears, yeah c'mon now

Uh-ninety-six tears

Machado should be in a tier by himself.

He's as much better as the folks grouped with him as they are the folks below.

Perfectly stated.

Manny is in a class that only a dozen or so players in the entire league belong in.

Before we do anything about resigning anyone, getting him signed long term has to be priority 1, 2,3 and 4.
