If it's a straight 31M a year, I think he beats 4/124 easily. If the salary progresses, that's a different story.

If he has three years that are up to his past standards, I agree he'll beat 4/$124 mm. And the team that signs him will then probably regret doing so.

"Competitive offer" the term of our offseason 2015-2016

I hope we don't see the phrase often, as it pretty much means "also ran." BTW, that offer (for O'Day) is probably based on perceived value, not market value, and winds up either a year short or $8MM shy of the actual deal. I won't be heartbroken if he leaves, but I would love to have him back...
