OFFNY

Recommended Posts

Guaranteed out is starting to become one of the most overused terms/concepts on this board IMHO. I think he's getting close to turning it on offensively soon, personally. He drove two balls pretty deep last night that ended up as very loud outs.

Just happened again on the first pitch in the third with two men on

Kim batting 6th ahead of Alvarez against the mighty Tanaka. I guess Buck thinks he can hit a MLB fastball.

Who says you can't have and OBP of .266 over your last 81 games and not bat second?

Certainly not Buck

Tanaka really doesn't throw his 4 seamer or cutter. He's pretty much a split, sinker, slider kind of guy. He's around 90mph on average for his sinker, around 86mph on his split and his slider sits around 84. So might be a solid matchup for Kim.

That said, this offense has been putrid this Yankee series against 2 bad arms in Severino and Sabathia. I don't know if Tanaka is the guy to get right against since he's really a junkballer that sits low in the zone and the O's aren't a contact team. That's why Kim is in the line-up, though. (Contact).

Buck just mentioned that he spoke with Paul [Janish] and Jimmy Paredes w/r/t a potential four man bench starting tomorrow (with Britton returning to pitching).

Roch had this from Buck:

?He?s [Parades] going to stay with the Bowie club. I know his last day there is the 15th if we want to carry it that far.?

Somewhat surprised not see to Kim in there vs the RHP. Seems he's worked his was into a platoon (in combination with Rickard coming back to expectations).

In 2016 the following seems to be Gravermans trend:

.315 BA against RHB in 56 PA

.217 BA against LHB in 67 PA

Seems more effective against Lefties than the other side of the plate.

Small Sample Size Alert
