Jones hit a catchable fly ball to right. Souza misplayed it and it went over his head and off the wall. Adam trotted halfway to first, carrying the bat, then turned it on too late to get to second.

A good chance that our team leader's laziness cost us a run.

What did Jones do wrong? Not hustle?

He thought his ball was going to be caught so just jogged out of the box with the bat in his hands. If he had run hard and taken a turn he could've gone to second after the fielder didn't pick up the ball quickly off the wall.
