I felt myself almost rooting against him being good.  Don't get me wrong, I like Davis.  I think he seems like a good guy.  I hate seeing him struggle so much.

But...if him getting back on track in any way validate's Brady Anderson in any capacity...it's hard for me to get behind him hitting well again.

I feel bad admitting that, actually.

I’m putting zero stock in 2 decent games.    If he has a decent 10 game stretch, I’ll pay attention.   And yes, I hope that happens.   But I’m not counting on it.

Here's where as an observer I'd love to know how deep the game goes.  I'm not sure if it is paranoia, or smart game theory, but there's a part of me that feels like the league knows CD can't play anymore, the 2018 Orioles are toast, and for AL East teams, it's to their medium term benefit to make it look like he's back.

I had this same feeling a bit in his scorching September 2015 when the Orioles were out of the race, and there was a lot of compiling in meaningless games.  If it was a stratagem, it's worked out brilliantly for the Orioles competition as a whole.

Well what  I worry about CD getting better then Mr. Angelos believes the O's can make the Wildcard.

We are 20 games back in June and have close to the worst record in baseball.  No one in the world thinks we can make the WC, Angelos included.

Nobody is going to think that.   The math is too ridiculous.   To reach .500 we’d have to play .667 baseball the rest of the season.
