Casas is their #1 and only tier 1 prospect. Mata is #7 and projects as mid rotation starter but is 20 and has a long way to develop into that. Poyner is #22 and a bullpen are ..2 pitch pitcher (fastball and changeup), he has below average curve and cutter.

Bottom line is their system is rated dead last and Casas would have to be the third IMO

Cashner has an option and therefore is not a rental. His option is for 10 million team option. If he reaches 340 innings combined. He had 153 last year, 96 in the 1sr half. He would need about 15 starts at 6 innings to get there. If that happens it becomes his option.

Actuallu like this deal! Helsley is having a tough year but is a good prospect, Thomas could be a starting CF , or a 4th OF, and Gingery looks like a back of the rotation or good BP Arm.

I just don't know if other teams will value him as an OF.  I hope they do, but whoever gets him with the intentions of staying in the OF may end up regretting it in the long run.

They point out that Givens has been on a tear recently.  20K over his last 11 IP.  Cashner only 5 ER total in his last 5 starts.

Welp the first domino fell. Givens had a really good multi inning save and has been pretty good recently. I think Villar is 100% traded and Givens probably 75%.

If we have to pay the salary we could get a Cashner return. Some contender will want him as a Util IF.
