OK, now I see why Hyde usually uses his relievers for only an inning or less, even when they've pitched well. Keeps the (Russian) roulette wheel spinning.

Although I guess for the defense, it's more like a pachinko game.

I don't know what Hyde's intent is, but that's the effect: every inning presents a new adventure in crappy relief pitching.

Boston up 8-5 after 3.   Eduardo Rodriguez has given up 5 runs in 3 innings, throwing 68 pitches.   He's got to go 2 more innings to qualify for the W, which would be his 19th if he could get it.

If he does get #19 tonight, he would be going for #20 vs the Orioles Sunday on the last day of the seaosn.

I sure hope Mancini has earned a chance to play first base every day in 2020. Davis can move to the outfield on occasion if he stays.
