Akin had a rough spring, but I still thought he'd make the team. I would guess the rotation is Means, Kremer, Harvey, Lopez, and LeBlanc now with Zimmermann and the Rule 5 guys in the pen.

I’m surprised LeBlanc Came back to a major league contract. It makes me wonder why they released him. Did they just decide that Akin was so bad they had to have Leblanc instead of Zimmerman?

Meanwhile Lopez hit the magic 5 innings and didn’t get blasted so I guess he has a spot.

Giving starts to Jorge Lopez and Wade LeBlanc over Akin seems like a productive use of this season.

Clarification: Shaw reassigned not optioned.  He is not on the 40 man roster.

I don't think Akin is anything more than a depth arm so I'm fine with it.

Maybe he's not. Only one way to find out and that isn't by having him pitch at some bs extended spring training while there is no minor leagues. I didn't see him pitch this spring but unless he was topping out at 86 or dropped a heater on the clubhouse floor he should get starts.

Thanks, but we are all just guessing.

I am still trying to figure out LeBlanc's contract.  Roch says its a split contract which to me means its a minor league contract with him still trying to make the team.  That would mean LeBlanc is not of the 40 man roster at this point. And because Davis was put on the 60 day IL there are 39 players on the 40 man roster.   

I am not sure of any of that.
