We can listen to CoC prattle on and on about the CBA like he's been doing for a year and a half. I typically hate the offseason, too.  But this is going to be a really bad, boring, long one.

There’s been some discussion of this.   The warehouse angles away from home plate, so that 439 down the foul line increases very quickly as balls go left of there.   The ground there is 25 feet higher

With that being said, there’s a lot of drama with Kumar Rocker, and he didn’t sign with the Mets last year. If he fell to our 2nd pick which should be somewhere in the late 20s/early 30s, would Elias draft him?

He may not be the ace everyone, or himself, thinks he is, but he could be a solid mid-to-back rotation arm, with high upside bullpen leverage potential as well. 

Maybe, but what scared the Mets in those medicals?

Probably something you care about with a top 10 pick but not a 2nd rd pick. We’re still happy as clams with Carter Baumler and he needed TJS almost immediately after being drafted. If we’re talking about a $1-2mm signing bonus for Rocker with our 2nd/3rd pick, then I think you do that all day.

If Rocker and his agent were ok with 1-2 M, he probably would have signed with the Mets.

The Mets were worried about his right elbow.  From the New York Post:

Q: What exactly is wrong with Rocker?

A: The Mets expressed concern initially and primarily about Rocker’s right elbow, according to multiple sources. Ultimately, the Mets didn’t like what they saw beyond just the elbow, which is why they didn’t think even Tommy John surgery would alleviate their worries.

Rocker and Boras, of course, insist that nothing is wrong with him, and they possess the rather impressive Exhibit A of the pitcher’s body of work at college. That is why the entire baseball world, no one more than the Mets, will be watching Rocker very closely.

Actually, they could lose that 11th pick if they sign a free agent that was tendered a contract by their former team and turned it down - because the 11th pick is scheduled to be their 2nd pick.

What elbow issue can't be alleviated by TJS, I wonder? I'm sure there are a number of issues, but I'm not sure what.

      One run and 2 XBH’s in the last 13 innings. Doesn’t matter how good the pitching. If they’re just scattering a few singles it’s gonna be tough to win.

      A week or two ago I thought about Sandoval with LAA as a possible #5 starter type.    I see he hurt his elbow. It’s remarkable.

      Cowser is probably going to figure it out and have a productive career. But if a deal presented itself to trade him (out of the division) for a reliable starter with control, the O's should make it in a heartbeat. Let Colton figure it out on someone else's time. The Orioles desperately need quality pitching.

      St. Louis did can’t remember about the Reds. I don’t know what it is about teams located in the center of the country. Even though the Astros are in the AL West Division they are still in that part of the US.

      Mateo is a utility player not a guy who starts 140 games a season. Time for him to shift into that role.
