O's were contenders!!

I am pretty excited.

The O's went 8-5  vs the Red Sox, Twins, KC and the Cards.  They won 3 series and split one vs the Twins.  The pitching, hitting and defense came together.

Then they lost Mountcastle, Hays and Mateo to injuries  and the hitting faltered vs the Tigers and Yankees.  Six straight loses and maybe another today.  But the last two games have been one run loses vs the Yankees which shows some life.

But this weekend vs the Rays the O's maybe stronger then when they went 8-5.  Hays and Mateo are back.  Mountcastle may be back on Saturday.   We probably see Adley promoted sometime this weekend and Grayson may pitch on Sunday.

The Rays have had the O's number for a while but the O's didn't have this pitching, defense and offense previously.

Should be real interesting.

I am not excited either but I'm not as disappointed as I thought I'd be. Maybe I'm numb (or start that with a "d"). They have played the Yankees close and a few breaks here or there and they would have won a game. A few wins now along with some roster improvement would be good for the soul!

But the good teams win these games. I remember when they would get ahead of the Yankees in many games and the Yankees would pull it out.Jack Cust falls down. I was at a game where the Orioles were ahead and then it starting raining and somehow the umps let them play on in  a downpour and the Yankees went ahead and then they called the game

But one day soon the O's will be the good team.

OK today I hide away
But tomorrow I take the reins
Still living with my mother
As I move from one micro influencer to another
References, references, references
What are you on tonight?
I love this city
Despite the burden of preferences
What a time to be alive
Oh, I know where I'm going
It's Black Country out there

I'll be excited when Rutschman's in the lineup and Rodriguez and DL Hall are in the rotation.  I'll be happy to see Mountcastle back on the field.  And I'll be thrilled if they realize that Henderson is a year older than Manny was and is outperforming Machado's offensive performance at AA when he was promoted to Baltimore.
