Adley is in the Show!

I have wondered why Adley  was not started in the minors like the vast majority of Prospects. I must have missed this clue to the puzzle because it would seem like  a no brainer, regardless of his talent, to do that.  I mean,   he could have played HOF baseball in 2022 and all that would have done is maybe result in the team getting a lower  draft pick.

Another Adley promotion. Been up about three weeks and two promotions. Also the radio ticket selling promotion is come to Camden Yards to see the # 1 pick and # 1 rated prospect.  I know the Oriole attendance is bad and didn't get a bump from bringing Adley up but let the kid get his feet wet. What next Adley 1st RBI bobblehead on the weekend?

I'm just resigned to the fact that he's going to be a bust.

The bust giveaway is in July. The Fathers Day promotion has changed. It is now Adley's father Fathers Day promotion  A signed copy of his book ,have to pay for the book. "How I made Adley into the #1 prospect and #1 draft pick ".  Video with all the secrets is $49.95, s and h extra.

I’d rather not watch a video of Adley being created…

We can give Adley the first ever Caleb Joseph award for finishing a season with zero RBIs.

I think Adley will be fine, but it’s never a smooth ride being an Orioles fan. Even Mike Trout has a .456 OPS in the last two weeks. Slumps are going to happen it’s just gets extra attention when a career begins with a slump.

This guy is terrible I'm sorry to say. His numbers in the minors were not impressive whatsoever either. Looking more and more like a bust. 24.5 years old and looks like a AAA player at best

What didn't impress you? His 282 BA, 391 OBP, 30 HR, or 110 RBI?  That and he plays a tough defensive position.  Not impressive whatsoever?  Come on.  No 2020 season.  He is a year older then under normal circumstances.

    • I would bet there are people in their mid to late 40's that don't remember the O's World Series win.  My dad wasn't a big sports guy and back then family's had one TV.  I don't remember much about sports before the O's coming up just short in 1982.  Definitely don't remember 1979 World Series even though I was 9.
    • My best guess for the 2025 at this point: 18m   Eflin  SP1 10m. Mullins  CF 3)   8m. Dominguez RP1 4)  8m. O’Hearn.    DH/1B 5)  7m  Mountcastle. 1B 6)  6m.  Greg Soto. • No, you're right. That's a good point.
    • I’m just saying that just because you are in great shape, doesn’t mean you will age well. I thought it would be a big help to Davis and it wasn’t.
    • This conversation is the definition of baseball is a business. Losing Santander and the things he does well is going to suck. Keeping him and having time win on a bad contract would suck. Considering that they've drafted predominantly on the offensive side, they have to give him the QO and allocate the resources to the pitching and other areas of need.
    • The Mountcastle question rely depends on Mayo and your plan for him.  Is he a first baseman?  Is he a first base/RFer/DH?  If he’s not a RFer, I don’t see how you bring back Mounty. While you need to be more right handed, I think Mounty being at first and what we have behind him hurts his value for the Os.
    • Haha true. But that was $161 million. I'm proposing something more like the JJ Hardy deal (adjusted for inflation).  Hardy was only worth 1.7 WAR over those last 3 years, so I guess it was a "bad deal" on paper. But he helped the O's get back to the playoffs in 2016 and he helped to anchor a young infield.
