Why do the Yankees want Phillips when they had Gallo?

I think it is just a cheap price to take a look at him and see if O's coaching can make him better.

I don't understand the rationale. We already have McKenna and now we've added another guy who fills the same role. Neither guy can hit. I would not be shocked if both stay on the roster and Diaz is sent down after the game tonight or tomorrow for another bullpen arm.

I think you’re probably right, but I also think it’s insane that they’re (likely) playing service time games with Stowers.

He’s a left handed hitting McKenna and I’m sure they’ll plug and play them both. Diaz will go back down and get regular at bats.

Salary dump for Tampa. Os prefer a lefty version of McKenna to the RH version we have now. Stowers is blocked by Santander and Vavra. Arguably Stowers should be up now but I don't see Phillips affecting his timetable.

Never mind, he is assigned to minors. I guess this is replacing Diaz and adding depth. Really nothing to see here

Oh.. he plays defense. Sure am glad, because he has little offensive skills that would warrant him being picked up. Left-handed or not.

I liked the Mancini and Lopez moves (contrary to my family members), and hope both guys do well.. but this move has me baffled. If I was a little younger, I'd have rolled a fatty.
