It Ain't Over

Looks like the only possible route now is a complete Rays collapse and the Orioles running off 12 -14 wins in the last 16. We need to make up 6 games in 16. So if we go 12-4 the rays would have to go 6-10. The Rays schedule is probably a little more difficult than ours so not impossible, but we need to literally play our best ball of the season over these 16.

The offense needs to explode but they're showing little to no-signs of life over the past two weeks.

I just don't want them going on one of these losing 13 out of 16 or something. Yes, last night was embarrassing and it's clear the offense is pressing especially the non-Elias guys. But losing 13 out of 16 would be even more embarrassing to end it. Just play .500 ball and get to 82 wins and I'll be happy. And yes, I'll keep watching when I'm able until they are mathematically eliminated because I am a fan of the team no matter how bad they are playing. Watching Adley and Gunnar is enough to keep watching alone.

Last night was awful. One of the rare times I have got mad all year. The offense was inept and pitching fell apart. It was like Hays’ play in the 1st set the tone for the whole night. Coming off a win Sunday in Toronto and following it up with that is not acceptable. Hyde in the post game was much more looser than I thought he would be. About half kidding around.

What was the Hays play?

I’d like to see Grayson pitch a little with the Os, DL Hall continue to progress, Stowers and Vavra get some more ABs (although with Vavra’s lack of power not sure how he can really figure into a contending roster), and of course Henderson and Adley continue to develop and stay healthy.  Other than that, at this point, just finish above .500 and this year is an unreserved success.
