You can double switch whenever make two (or more) defensive changes simultanously.   So we changed P and CF at the same time, and Hyde can then specify which of the two positions they  hit in.   The pitcher was in the 5 spot and Mullins was in the 1 spot, but by making the double substitution he can say the new pitcher goes in the 1 spot and the new CF goes in the 5 spot.

Rutschman didn't come into the game.   He just changed positions (DH to C).   So he can't change spots  in the batting order.   You are locked into your spot in the batting order for the duration of the game.

I agree with you Bautista is a good reliever, but he's not polished as a pitcher like Zack Britton in his prime. Bautista is still prone to giving up an ill-timed home run or a wild pitch. 

I expect Bautista to get better with experience now that he knows he can get out MLB hitters.
