Some grudging credit where it’s due. Mike Baumann threw 2.1 scoreless last night and kept us in the game. He has his good outings that make you wonder why he’s not better than he is overall. Yesterday was one of those. -
Gunnar is now leading the AL in Homeruns and tied for the MLB HR lead with 12. -

I think if you lived and died with the fortunes of some other very good team, you’d be about equally entertained. Good teams are entertaining and win games in exciting ways. This team is 9-3 in 5+ run blowouts, 5-4 in one run games, 3-2 in extra innings. Let’s look at some other top teams: ATL: 8-2, 6-6, 4-2 PHI: 12-4, 8-2, 2-1 MIL: 9-3, 8-4, 2-0 CHC: 8-3, 7-7, 1-3 LAD: 9-2, 5-5, 1-3 NYY: 8-3, 9-4, 1-3 CLE: 6-4, 6-6, 6-2 MIN: 6-5, 6-3, 1-0 KCR: 9-4, 7-7, 1-1 So, we’ve had the second most blowout wins of any of these teams, and are tied for the lowest number of one-run wins. We’ve done decently in one-run games (5-4), but nothing special. Same with extra innings (3-2). The O’s are our team, we love them, and they’re playing great. Is their brand of winning baseball more exciting and entertaining than the other good teams? Beats me. I don’t have time to watch those teams play every night and compare them, and wouldn’t care about them even if I did that. But I think it’s just generally exciting when your team plays well.
