I’m thinking we’re going to try and pass them all through waivers at the same time, and just see who sticks.

That’s what I’m thinking too.  And maybe having better Cs in the org that benefit the pitching development?

Aramis Garcia was once a highly rated prospect in the Giants system. A second round pick out of FIU. He has had some injuries, including a hip labrum that required surgery, and missed significant time. There is some power there, and a lot of swing and miss. Reportedly has worked hard to become an above average defender.

If they really are going to go with the strategy of carpet-bombing the waiver wire with a bunch of guys who play the same position, it will certainly be a unique tactic.

Maybe Elias is really bad at choosing what he wants and just wants someone to make the choice for him.

After Orioles picking up 2 Reds Catchers, I went to check their Depth chart.  Other posts talk about MLB teams taking a flyer on Maverick Handley in the Rule 5 this year... After Tyler Stephenson, the Reds are thin/barren as can be and in a total rebuild.

An interesting story from February 2021 from an A’s site on Garcia.

Thanks for posting.  It’s also a good reminder that the A’s have a few highly rated catching prospects.  Here’s to hoping!
