I'm not interested in paying either one of them 210 million.

By the way, did I miss a post saying that Rodon was seeking $210 mm?

FWIW, Wells was worth 23 rWAR at ages 30-36, while Lolich was worth 29 WAR at those ages despite missing his age 36 season.

I still remember that in 1966 Sandy Koufax and Don Drysdale pulled a “double holdout” that resulted in them getting the princely sums of $135 k and $105 k, respectively.   Koufax went on to win 27 games that season, or $5,000 per win.

Their greed probably destroyed the Club's championship juju.

I can imagine giving Rodon $30 mm/yr.  I can imagine (sort of) giving Rodon a 7 year deal.   I cannot imagine doing both those things together.

It's what he's asking for, but I do kind of doubt he gets it. The more I think about him, the more I don't like the injury history. Couple it with a guy who looks to be somewhat out of shape. I dunno. I think within the window of contention, there will be better ways to spend $200 million.

Honestly we deserve this for believing a sham MLB insider Twitter account lol. This is now approaching infamous OH thread level.

Put "big game shopping" on the wall with "wine and dine".

@Sports Guy……A3 Teamer!

Has SG posted since this trade went down?  Someone please call and check on him, a 3 team trade might have given him a heart attack and/or a stroke.

Anyway, looks like Rodon might be headed to the Yankees.  Seems to be the kerfuffle on Twitter.

This has been a really disappointing offseason so far.  And I'm not saying that because we haven't given an absurd contract to Rodon, but it's that other teams are fearlessly making moves, being aggressive and Kyle Gibson is our booby prize.
