I assumed O'Hearn would have been a career 35% K type of guy, but was pleasantly surprised to see he only K'd 24% of the time last year.  About 27% for the career.  Above average BB rate for career at 9.2% too, but only 5% last 2 years.

Obviously the move is underwhelming, but for cash considerations expectations are already low so you can squint to see the spring training battle.

Any team that is DHing Ryan O'hearn is not seriously trying. Can't wait until we are bottom 5 in runs scored and one of the dozen times we almost got no hit last year comes to fruition.

 

They could just promote Westburg on day 1 or signed someone like Josh Bell, but nope.. got to get guys who only hit well in AAA. I thought Duquette was gone?

$9.4 million on O’Hearn and Frazier. Brantley signed for $12 million. We could’ve beaten that offer and gotten who we really needed. It would’ve taken $13 million(likely) meaning only $3.6 million more.

But the payroll is essentially zero.  They can afford to sign better players instead of taking "fliers" on players who might figure it out in the big leagues (Cordero/O'Hearn) or have not had success for years (Mazara).
