As of right now, I'd say Irvin and Kremer are probably on the hot seat because they were awful in their first starts. I don't think Kremer should be given any more rope than Irvin.

Had great seats along 3rd base line. Dollar hot dogs were overpriced.  

Grayson looked incredibly more confident and poised as the game went on. Keep him up.  His fastball command was a lot better when he dropped his velo down to 95ish.

deGrom was absolutely filthy. So many of the Orioles whiffs missed by a mile.

Gunnar especially looked lost.  Body language was like somebody whose dog just died.

Does "whoever is the weakest goes down" still happen if you have a young guy making the minimum with options compared to a veteran you are paying millions to?   I don't think Gibson or Irvin are likely to go down, regardless of performance unless it is really bad.

That's fair.  But Grayson was supposed to be here.  IF he pitches and earns his place I think someone could be bumped to the pen.  I agree it won't be Irvin or Gibson unless either is hurt.  But again, I don't see this as a problem, more an opportunity.  IF Grayson pitches two more games like today he ain't going anywhere.  IMHO

I actually like that idea. Then if you have an emergency you can just do what Tyler Wells did. Bump the next day's starter to come in the game and bail out the team. Then you're back to normal 5 days if an injury happens. Either way, everybody is rested enough to pitch when needed.

Unless Voth gets his curveball issues fixed, I think he's on the chopping block. He's out of options and he's costing them 2-3 million dollars to do the same thing a much less expensive reliever/call up can do.  His curve-ball has been hanging too much this season.

Guys who are starting need to be on a regular routine. I think a six man rotation limits the bullpen. They could drop Irvin or Wells to long relief and not have to send anyone down.

It's not like we have the 70s Orioles or 90s Braves rotation. I think the Orioles can cut it to five starters without too much trouble. If we're that deep, I'd prefer packaging two or three of them with some prospects and go get a top-flight starter at the deadline.
