Stanton definitely defines the difference in these 2 teams. He is not even doing his best impression of Miggy or Albert at the second half of their SH contacts, How bout this since his second year (2019) with the Yankees he has made over 135 Million while putting up putting up 4.1 WAR (BBREF). In the meantime one of our favorite whipping boys Dean Kremer, in one year less has put up 3.6 WAR while costing slightly more 2 Million -

Mountcastle is an issue too. Mayo would make more sense in a platoon with O'Hearn than with Mountcastle. Eventually Mayo should be full time 1B, maybe sharing some AB's with Basallo and Kjerstad. I think Elias stumbled into this not really knowing what we might get out of O'Hearn. Even after a good year, he looked a bit worn down at the end and I was fully expecting regression. Instead, he has gotten even better, crushing the ball for loud outs even when he isn't getting hits. He just looks really locked in. With the production we are getting, we really can't complain about O'Hearn blocking the prospects. -

If De Leon stays healthy he could be on top 100 lists as soon as midseason. Right now, he’s got a 2.08 xFIP and 2.20 FIP in 21 IP, with 33/5 K/BB. He checks every box - age, build/projectability, velo, 3 pitches, swing and miss stuff, lefty, ground balls, and now throwing strikes and a low walk rate. Wouldn’t be surprised to see the Orioles bump him up a level soon. Being a lefty with a power sinker is a fantastic fit for OPACY as well. That’s going to make him very tough on lefties and should keep the ball in the yard against them, and if he struggles more with righties given the platoon splits on the sinker he has LF to take advantage of. -
I would test that theory and throw him nothing but breaking pitches and changeups. -
