Of course not, MLB changed the system to stop folks from tanking which was the backbone of the O's strategy.

Looked pretty natural in LF as well.  Started the game going back with a nice over the shoulder catch.

It's worth noting that the conversation of Norby to a corner outfielder may have begun. Only two of his six starts were at 2B and he committed an error in both. He started two games in LF and one in RF.

Westburg, Ortiz, and Vavra are definitely higher priority in the IF. I guess he can switch out with Vavra, as they have similar defensive capabilities.

He also realizes as a below average defensive 2B that it will be tough to break onto a team that puts a big emphasis on defense on the dirt.

Tony, is he better than Vavra at 2B? Because their hit tools seem similar and Norby clearly has way more power. I realize that trades LHH for RHH, and with The Wall that's not ideal, but they seem like similar players IF Norby can not embarass himself in the corner OF as well.

Quotes like that from Norby are one of the reasons why I don't want to leave guys at AAA when they've earned their shot. Have to be mindful about the organizational vibe going from excitement about the future to resentment at lack of opportunities. Norby actually has the least to complain about given his age, defensive issues, and slash line this year.

To be clear, I'm not saying that Norby is complaining. But it's the first vocalization of what might become a theme going forward.

I hope that the front office is more mindful of these dynamics than the fans who view players as chess pieces to be deployed at the team's whims. That's not a culture you want to curate.

I honestly see no way he will be with the organization by spring training and doubt he makes it past trade deadline.  He is still top 100 prospect and one of the top 10 2nd base prospects in the game.  He will be an asset to some team that is looking for young 2nd baseman.

They're similar in the sense that they both are a little stiff out there, don't have great hands, but have at least average second base arms though throwing on the run can be a challenge.
