He’s had like 27 at bats or something.

Yeah and I kept saying it would take a lot more before he would be good. But we're not a losing team anymore and wr don't have time to wait for 3 rookies at rhe same time to get this crap together while they adjust to big league pitching. Those who thought he would come up and light the world on fire and instantly replace Santander or Hays were just a bit unrealistic. There's always an adjustment period and some take longer than others. We don't have much margin to mess around when chasing a division title.

We need Mullins back.  He's still the heart and soul of this team imo and the spark when the O's need it.

One of my favorite things about the Game thread now is all the people overreacting about Colton having less than 30 at bats.

Did DirtyBird rub off on everyone or something?

I don't think that I am overreacting by saying it may take hime some time to adjust to this level like it does most guys including most of the very best prospects (including our own).

Last year this veteran laden team sucked right up until they called up Rutschman.

It’s not always linear failure when they recall a rookie. And the organization knows what to look for in young players to know they’re ready. And you don’t glean anything from 30 at bats, you just don’t. Cowser has walked twice as much as he has K’d.

That is a thing.

All the more reason they should've been up much sooner.

Sure. And the solution is not to send him down. The solution is, as you said, give him time to adjust.

Westburg .680 OPS .. Cowser .489OPS ..sheesh

They are rooks. It's going to take time. Didn't we go through this with Gunnar already this season and Adley last? Everyone is not going to be De La Cruz. As a matter of fact, he and Carroll are the exceptions and far from the rule.
