Kevin Brown absence explained?

I wouldn’t be shocked if Angelos never even saw the clip until yesterday. He probably had some stooge acting as his right hand man whistleblow this and complain about Brown to Angelos.

Also from now on whenever an Orioles broadcaster says something, I will be wondering if they have to paint rays of sunshine or say something honest.

WBAL C4 and Bryan Nehman show talked about it. Bryan said in 20 years of broadcasting why would you get suspended for that. Got to be more or the Angelos family is crazy.

Yes, there are 2 options here:

#1 (which I believe) - there is more to the story.  

#2 - John Angelos needs to be committed.

Rob Long said he has never been giving talking points about what or what not to say while on the air.

Said he had no knowledge of Brown being suspended; learned it all while it was coming out yesterday.

Confirmed that the piece in question was a pre-production piece and multiple people would have been involved.  Makes no sense to suspend Brown and Brown alone.

I maintain my stance that there's more to this story and this will be yet another lesson in "sources".

If I'm wrong, so be it, but I don't think I am.

Y'all can keep giving John Angelos the benefit of the doubt if you want (against all evidence), but everything being reported is completely on brand for him and his family.

Besides, there's no amount of added context that makes this any less unforgivable.

There may be more to the story but there’s no chance Rob Long feels free to speak openly about this. I would’ve been pretty surprised if he said anything other than what he did.

They just read a statement on 105.7 from the Os denying KB was suspended “for the Tropicana field incident”. Statement seems to leave open that he was suspended, and now I’m sure they’ll no comment on “why he was suspended”. Of course they can’t just publicly acknowledge the mistake and offer to make it right, not in Angelos’ DNA.

I have had one dealing with Kevin Brown also where he was professional and caring and went beyond what he had to do.

I get that…but there are no depths, no level of stupidity that this ownership group won’t sink to. Thats the thing. I can see thinking there has to be more here but I saw so many bashing Matt and defending JA over this (I’m not talking about here).

It’s just amazing to me how little this fan base seems to know about this family. It’s almost as if we are already seeing the bandwagon loaded up and people are just now paying attention to anything Os related.

He says otherwise.  Doesn't work for MASN, is contracted by them.

He didn't specifically say the report was wrong because he said he didn't know, just said what the rest of us have said, it doesn't make any sense.

Like father like son. We lost Jon Miller and now Kevin Brown is likely to walk due to the sickening Angelos family. No wonder the negotiations are going poorly with the stadium authority. This guy must be torture to deal with. Disgusting.

This sucks and Angelos is stupid.  I really hope this doesn’t affect players wanting to play for this team, but fear that it will. I also worry about it affecting the ability to keep front office staff.
