I guess so.  It's a bit of a waste though, using a guy like that to clean a dirty diaper.  I see the point, you get a guy in to save the bullpen as much as possible but you also take away his next start and he's been decent lately.

I think that's probably it.    A 33 pitch inning and a 40 pitch inning is different than a long first and then having four more typical innings to 100 odd pitches.

This is a beautiful reason why you don’t just make a trade to make a trade. Granted, we absolutely had to make a move and who knows, maybe Flaherty gives us good starts down the stretch. But this reminds me of Bud Norris.
