I rarely second guess Hyde, but this was not his best day.  I’d told a friend in the 6th inning we should avoid Kimbrel today.   He’s been overused and now we’re paying the price.  And they should have yanked him for injury when they came to the mound.  Terrible decision to let him continue.

The bigger issue is going to be if Rodriguez throws another stinker tomorrow. They are going to destroy his atrocious fastball so I hope he can locate the changeup and throw it 80% of the time. We'll get 3 innings of Baumann.

It’s on Kimbrel to tell him he can’t go. Hyde can’t tell him he is hurt.

Makes sense. I still might've preferred giving Kjerstad a chance to get into one, then doing something goofy like Mountcastle or McKenna at 2b if need be. It was a horrible matchup for Mateo.
