We treated Cortes pretty rudely in the prior series (6 IP 4 ER). Gil dominated us (6.1 IP, 0 R). Rodriguez handled the Yankees (5.2 IP, 0 R). We didn’t see Cole, they didn’t see Suarez or Irvin. Since the Yankees left Baltimore: Judge 1.444 Soto 1.039 Stanton .818 Trevino .775 Volpe .728 Torres .703 Verdugo .698 Rizzo .556 It’s still basically a two-man offense. -
I would love to upgrade the #3 spot. I pointed out last year what Texas did though mainly riding 2 starters. It’s a nuanced question. Do you value the arm enough to move a top prospect for? How long do you have the arm under team control? Elias will not move a top prospect for a marginal improvement over say Kremer/Irvin. How many available arms are worth the top prospects? What teams are still in it in 6 weeks? How many more SP on all teams get hurt between now and then? -

When did the Brewers become rookie Joey Ortiz’s team? I must have missed something. -
It’s building. A few observations: 1. I had lots of people tell me they couldn’t get tickets this weekend. Orioles fans are used to being able to grab tickets a few days before and make last minute plans. They’ll have to adjust behaviors 2. Philly fans gobbled up a lot of the seats weeks/months ago. This series was circled. 3. Demand leads to scarcity which leads to more demand. -

That’s probably what it is going to take in order for us to succeed through multiple rounds in October. We do not have a credible game three starter at this point. Would you be confident in Irvin/Suarez (who has ZERO quality starts on the entire season)/Kremer out pitching Rodon. -

No one wants to hear this, but we have a very good bullpen. 3rd in the AL per Fangraphs. I still want to add to it of course, but lots of teams would kill to have 3.50 ERA type guys like Keegan Akin, Cionel Perez, or Jacob Webb. They're taken for granted here in my opinion. -

The Yanks had bases loaded no outs and couldn't score in the 7th. Red Sox scored 3 in their 7th and lead 7-3 in the 8th.
