This isn't how you make Corbin Burnes love you all enough to leave millions on the table to stay.

That's never been a remotely possible thing.  Watch any interview where the interviewers talk to Burnes about free agency.  He doesn't think the way you're suggesting, at all.

I realize Cowser's throw was bad...but Mateo needs to make the short hop play and hold the runner...so I say Mateo had the bad inning..I hope he hits, because he was terrible yesterday...seems like as soon as we praise Mateo, he slumps..

Since scoring three runs in the 1st inning, the Orioles have now been outscored 7-1 and pretty much have looked interested.

Gunnar has been a turd since he was domianted by a 91 MPH left-handed fastball for three straight strikes.

He needs to sit and get his head straight. This game would have been a good game to give him a day off after his Little League at bat last night with the bases loaded.

Instead, he's out he dropping balls, striking out looking, and pretty much looking like he needs a mental break.

He's too good to look like this mentally.

Mateo has to stop that throw.  But to be fair, it probably caught him by surprise.

A heads up LF doesn't airmail the cutoff to 2B, it comes into short on a single. Mateo absolutely looked like wtf is this ball doing landing 2 feet in front of me?

Man, Cowser does seem to screw up throws way too often. Surprised he is so highly rated on savant

I believe OAA evaluates only catching, no throwing.     For sure Cowser's given some back there.

That was not Jorge, that was Cowser's overthrow. Gunnar just plain dropped the ball. Now Mateo can't make an accurate throw (maybe wet?)

@SteveA @Tony-OH Jorge got caught snoozing and was not paying attention when Cowser made the bad throw. Had he been paying attention, the ball would not have surprised him so much and he would have handled it by adjusting to the hop rather than getting surprised that it hit him.

He needed to get his head in the game. Cowser and Henderson too. Hopefully they will after that humiliating inning.

I think it surprised him. Who thinks a major league outfielder is going to overthrow the cutoff man on a play where the runner would in no way be trying for second. Then it short-hopped him on top of it.
