I think 50 percent of the fan base will be outraged. 25 percent will be happy and 25 percent will be content with not giving up top prospects.

I was just responding, albeit without a quote, to the mention of Skubal and Flaherty from Detroit.  Norby would certainly not be in a straight swap for Skubal, though he could be a player Detroit likes in a package, whether for Skubal or Flaherty.   Jason Foley (28) is another guy I'd look into, as he seems like he'd be a solid addition to the pen.

My prediction is that the Hangout either won't like who we got, or will won't like how much we gave up to get whoever we get.  You can bank on one, or both of those things happening, and a 20-page thread complaining about it, and accusing Elias of being  incompetent.   Please bump this when it happens.

Scherzer and Robertson from Texas would be cool. A couple veterans at spots where we need them. I don’t expect a blockbuster so I’m not even entertaining the idea.

I think we are going to see 1 or 2 of the following moves to clear roster spots / playing time for the youngsters

Cedric Mullins to the Phillies for Spencer Turnbull

Urias to the Cubs or Reds

Mountcastle to Houston

Mateo to the Giants or Red Sox

We will pick up a mid-rotation arm like Bassit or Kikuchi, a relief arm like Yimi Garcia or Kirby Yates( if Texas folds tents) and call it a day.

I think the Jays will want Norby and Stowers, but because all these pitchers are old, expensive, mediocre or all three, I don’t think it will cost that much, but I don’t know our farm system well enough to offer alternatives.

I would love Nick Lodolo.
