Looks good so far. He got Rivero to strikeout swinging in the first inning on a pretty changeup.

Along this line of thinking, why did he start the season in AA? After pitching almost 150 innings at that level, I'd think he'd be ready for AAA.

Because he hasn't pitched in over a year.

I don't think he has anything to prove at any level of the minors, except that he is healthy and has his command. The Norfolk rotation was full of guys who still have something to prove. Patton could have been assigned to Venus, and the O's would be happy if he threw well and had command.

and in the 4th one he gave up his 2n hit and recorded his 4K. I really think we overlooked Patton because all the attention that the big 3 get, but he has the potential to help up this year if he can show he is healthy

With 4 SO in 4 IP, he must be looking pretty good. No walks either. I wonder how much he'll have to show before the FO thinks he's ready for a call up?

I think AA was the right spot for him to start. Gives him a chance to be successful facing good hitters.
