Good move, if an obvious one. Good bet that Erbe goes, and maybe Spoone. They might send Snyder back, too, though he has played fall ball in 2007 and 2008 and they might want to give him a break.

I hope Spoone is given the winter off. We aren't relying on him for next season so they should take much caution with him.

I just got back from the game. He absolutely crushed it. If he had hit it at OPACY, it would have gone at least as far as the back of the flag court. The right fielder took about two steps and just watched it go. It was a towering shot.

I don't think Spoone goes, I think he gets to rest his arm after busting his butt rehabbing. He may not have had the innings pitched, but he's probably repeated the motion and thrown more pitches in side sessions and training programs than a lot of guys this year.

I thought Snyder too, but Bell will replace him. I'd think Waring, Widlansky, maybe Jacobson, maybe Turner, maybe Lebron.

I was there too. Cleared the (3-billboard-high) wall in RF by a good 25ft. Crushed indeed.

Also, Erbe was shaky. Walked in 2 runs (gave up 4 total) before leaving with 1 out in the 5th. He does pop that mitt though.

I checked, he was hitting lefty. He is a COMPLETELY hitter from his natural left side, I have some stuff I'll write up tomorrow about both him and Erbe's performance. I'm just too tired tonight. For the record, he threw his usual velocity, 89-91 and hit 93 once or twice.

Before the game started Bell asked a bunch of us to check out his swing. He said he made some adjustment. Not sure from what side he was refering too. I don't have the professional eye to see any difference. But I will say he is a different hitter from the left side. He crushed that HR ball. It was a no doubter. I have not seen power like he and Eric Crozier (HR also tonight) have since last years bashers (Montanez, Nettles and Reimold)
