Good start by UVA.

I'll tell you what. This is a well-coached team. They play GREAT defense, and you can tell Bennett has schooled them on shot selection. This team took so many bad shots last year it's incredible looking at them this year.

This team doesn't have the talent that they will next year with that great recruiting class coming in, but they are a scrappy bunch that has really played well in the past 5 weeks.

Jeff Allen was just ejected for throwing an elbow. Questionable call as it looked unintentional.

All that said, JJ hit his two free throws, Sylven hit a tough jumper, and the big fella, Mike Scott, drained a 3 to give the Hoos a 12-0 run and the Hoos now lead 44-34.

JPJ sounds like it is ROCKING.

Questionable? That was ludicrous. Jeff Allen is still marked for bumping a ref in his freshman year. The foul was borderline flagrant. It in no way warranted an ejection.

Tough loss for my 'hoos we should have and could easily won that game. I am very disapointed that we gave them that game.

Tough loss indeed; UVA took way too many quick shots when they were up by 10 with under 3 min. to play.

Bad shots, turnover and that ugly play with 14 seconds didn’t help either. Got to be tough for UVA fans right now.

Great win for VT.

Horrible loss for uva. At home, benefit of a juiced up crowd, get a very questionable ejection of a key VT player, up 10 with 2 and some change to go, hit a miracle 3 to send it into OT to get the crowd re-juiced, and STILL lose.

The Grinch known as VT has once again invaded Hooville.

Ugh.

Ugh.

Ugh.

I probably should wait to post. That was brutal. Landesberg played GREAT the first 37 minutes and completely choked the last 3 minutes. They totally forgot about Scott who was unstoppable earlier in the game. Jones missed two free throws. A bad inbounds pass. Sylven forces the last posession (Even though he obviously got fouled, you can't expect them to bail you out when you are in that situation.)

The hardest part about this whole thing is that UVA basically needed all their home games to have any kind of chance at the tournament, especially those against teams like VT. Sammy Z's shot was great but I never thought they had a chance in OT.

All that said, man, Delaney is a great, great player. When he has the ball in his hands things just happen. He got away with a couple flops against Landesberg, but man, the guy is just money when the chips are down. Landesberg, as great as he is, isn't quite there yet.

How about the first half from Sylven Landesberg?!

16 points in Chapel Hill to help UVA get a 5 point halftime lead? This has been the best game of his career so far and Coach Bennett has these guys playing really well. Any worries about a hangover from the bad loss Thursday are over.

20 minutes to go, but man, this would be unbelievable.

He's a heck of a player. Don't know if beating a NIT team will help the resume, but congrats. ;)
