Boy was that close!--Great throw, yes, but I had to watch it five times before really believing Wieters' tag beat the runner's foot hitting the plate.

You think he is 6'4". I'd have put him 6 2 or 6 3. He isn't thin. He just isn't huge. He is well put together. There aren't a ton of guys that throw 96 mph as a starter and most of them are bigger than him is my point. Beckett, Burnett, Sabathia, Halladay (could but doesn't much), Carmona, Lackey. Lincecum is one that does is that thin or thinner. Oswalt is another (he is shorter).

I agree his fall off in previous years wasn't really there. I think I drew a conclusion from last year plus folklore on the 2nd half thing.

He throws with all he has got and really torques the slider and curveball. I just don't see him having a long career w/o shoulder/elbow issues with his approach unless he tones it down. Oswalt did it so who knows? Time will tell.

He's listed at 6'4 and 215 pretty much everywhere. If you look at last years velo kings, I think he fits in okay:

He's bigger than Lester, Greinke, Scherzer, Jackson, Oswalt, and Jimenez, at a minimum. I think he fits in pretty neatly with "prototypical" power pitcher build. Maybe a bit lighter - could sit at 220 or so.

That doesn't mean that he's not max effort, of course. I just don't have a problem with his frame. He's throwing hard tonight, but he was only around 93 mph last year on average.
